Film festival RUles:

Film festival submissions are accepted from January 1, 2010 to August 31, 2010. All dates are the postmarked dates.

Festival judges will program films of every genre, length, and country.

Enter via Withoutabox (click above) or at festivalleague.com. A submission form and payment in US currency should accompany each festival submission.

Credit card payments, personal or company checks, and US money orders are accepted.

NTSC (or PAL) DVD is the preferred submission format. CRIFF also accepts mini-DV, or Blu-Ray.

CRIFF does not pay screening fees for work that is programmed.

Works in foreign language (other than Spanish) should be subtitled or dubbed in English.

Film festival Shipping:

Shipping should be environmentally friendly! Please use as little packaging material as possible when shipping your entry. CRIFF does not pay for shipping costs for submission copies, or exhibition copies. Please ask for a delivery confirmation as opposed to a signature confirmation if you would like to know when we receive your entry. Filmmakers will be notified by email on the status of their submission. Please feel free to email us with any questions. If accepted, the exhibition copy should be in our office three weeks prior to festival.

fee Waivers:

Unfortunately, no fee waivers can be granted for the 2011 Costa Rica International Film Festival, unless the film was made in Costa Rica.

Accolades:

The Costa Rica International Film Festival will present a great number of accolades to short and feature-length films in our program. We realize that just one award could help you gain the attention you need on the festival circuit, and we strive to give as many accolades as possible to deserving filmmakers.

terms and Conditions

The Costa Rica International Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes.

The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.

The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless Costa Rica International Film Festival from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
